Laura is an artist with an exceptional range of studio and location skills. She has been holding a camera since she was 12 years old. Her commissions for portraits and for book publishing cover art showcase her vision and talent to re-invent narratives and work collaboratively. To best represent the author's voice and story, she is known to construct detailed props, cast characters, or find the perfect location. Her photography has been licensed for the sets of the current hit television series Elementary/CBS, and in past seasons of Rescue Me/FX.  Laura also works as a picture researcher and editor specializing in book jacket cover art and interiors. Over the past years she has assisted designers finding and placing art on hundreds of covers, and creating photo inserts with authors to help illustrate their books.  A voracious reader, Laura thinks out of the box, digs deep for hard to find images and their creators, and skillfully dialogues with talent, negotiating rights and licensing image use with photographers, artists, museums, galleries and other collections world wide. Laura has been living and working from Brooklyn for 30 years. To request a portfolio, information about image licensing, or image research work, please contact her directly.  e: lh@laurahanifin.com
